UPA! Una Película Argentina

2007, Camila Toker, Santiago Giralt, Tamae Garateguy
90 Mins.
Feature Narrative

First they wanted to shoot a movie, now they want to shoot each other. "UPA! Una película argentina" is a hilarious mockumentary that follows a group of filmmakers as they attempt to create a Bergmanesque masterpiece. Fernando, the director, having recently won a Norwegian award for his first short and filled with Godardian visions, starts making his avant-garde feature-length dream project on a micro budget. Joining him is a cast of dysfunctional individuals who each lend their own talents and eccentric personalities to the production. The real humor in "UPA!" lies in watching the richly drawn characters as they become increasingly frustrated with each other’s idiosyncrasies and egotism in this affectionate spoof of the film industry. Discover why this low budget Argentine indie film is turning heads internationally. If you like the mockumentaries of Christopher Guest (“Spinal Tap”, “A Mighty Wind”, “Best in Show”) you will love "UPA!".
